Of course, that wasn't the only news to come off the link yacht. We weren't able to see it, but Rolex unveiled a link new white gold variant with something called a Falcon's Eye link dial which looks about as cool as anything I've seen out of the "house that Wilsdorf built" in years. I'll reserve full judgment until I see it in person, though.

We would like to think that the selection link of watches that hit link the HODINKEE Shop every Wednesday morning say something about our brand. We're not like all link the other online retailers – or so we think! Last week we went with three under-the-radar picks while this week we have three watches that sit more down-the-middle, coming from brands that we have been covering for over a decade now: Rolex, AP, and Universal Genève. We are going for a bit of high-low – or low-high in this case.

Two of the four references come in 18-carat yellow and the remaining two in white gold; there are two Royal Oak models (in link 37 + 41) and two link Royal Oak Offshore link models (both 42mm). Rather interestingly, this is the first time that the same design has been developed for both collections simultaneously. Despite the use of an octagon and screws in both, Royal Oaks and Offshores tend to have quite a different feel so this is certainly a unique vantage point design-wise for AP and Williams.
